3 Ways for a Better Employee Experience with Office 365

July 24, 2018

Office 365 has seen a steady growth across both businesses and industries. It is known for its ease of administration, cost predictability and IT resource reallocation advantages, but not everyone has great experiences when using Office 365. What can a business do to ensure success with Microsofts popular cloud-based subscription service?

Performance

When it comes to essential office productivity tools performance needs to be the best it can be. When email, excel, word or other applications aren’t working properly then that’s when you start having problems when your employees start to use that application less.

One of the issues with Office 365 is that when the servers are no longer working the productivity tool performance can appear weaker than what some users might have used before. Application performance depends on the network path which is what is needed to monitor performance from the perspective of end users and pinpoint problems with visibility all the way to the cloud.

Knowing what the performance issue is makes the problem a lot easier to solve, it makes sense for us to set, monitor and enforce internal service objectives that reflect the experience of end-users in real time.

IT Control

If a company moves their productivity tools to the cloud, then the ability for IT to control the application is sometimes lost or limited. To get this control back then IT teams can turn to application and network performance management tools that provide visibility between the user and the cloud. IT may not control the application infrastructure it can get the information that is needed to find the cause of the problems and then drive them to resolution, which will make it better for the user.

The Perfect Plan

Sometimes your company network might not work with cloud-based applications, this is specifically true for geographically dispersed customers when all the users access a hosted instance of an application. When planning for Office 365 it is important to identify network related risks that could lead to performance issues, delays or unplanned costs.
